This is an old behavior that was recently removed with the new font search feature. The font search is definitely useful, but when switching between font variations (bold, normal, italic, etc) it's less convenient than with the old selection menu since I need to search it every time.

For example if Arial is the current font selected, it should show that in the middle of the list when changing the font.
