When you create a template for a product, you have to go to the option set and select the option to to show it to the customer as a preview default. some times selecting the preview options on the option set may take a lot of time and, if you want work on the template, for example to add another dog to the template, a new option set is generated and you have to select the preview default options again.

it would save a lot of time to your customers if they can choose the selected default option preview directly from the template so if you make some changes, you don't have to select the default options again on the option set.
